Welcome to the second edition of my Scrapkit Newsletter, I am hoping that this will be the last month that the newsletter comes to you in this format – I will be attempting to get this into HTML so that you get it sent directly to your inbox without having to worry about conversion etc.

The page kits are still a success and I want to thank Marja and Suzanne for their fab work in designing LO’s with them for you all to see and get inspiration from.

In next months Newsletter there will be Layouts from the Basic Grey Page Kit that I am due to send out at the end of this week – I am hoping to get two of the fab layouts done for this edition but if time runs out they will always be available on my website.

Welcome to my new domain and I hope this will be the beginning of some big changes for me and Scrapkits.

This Months Kit

This month there will not be a page kit and I am going to be changing the format slightly as I am hoping to sign up with some UK suppliers and as such get lots more goodies in for you ladies to enjoy.

I have already started taking sign ups for a pre-christmas kit – Basic Grey Blitzen which of course for all you Basic Grey fans is a must have.  I know I have already made sure of my supply as I really do love their papers – if  not to use to design Layouts then to stroke and hoard. There were 12 kits initially and I have 5 left so if you are interested then drop me a PM or email. Details will be on the website of the exact contents soon.

New Stamps

I know how much us scrapbookers love stamps – I for one have a big drawer full of them as they are such fun to use and certainly part of the craft at the moment thanks to people like Tim Holtz and his wonderful altered art scrapbook pages.

As such I have signed up with a new company – not sure that anyone has seen them before – I could be wrong – but their stamps are gorgeous – Paperartsy.  Leandra the owner is fab, helpful and great to deal with – the catalogue is in the post so once I get my hands on it I will be getting a Kit together just for those who love to alter.  The kit will include everything you need to make a wonderfully emblellished journal and also the basics for a few scrapbook pages too – watch this space for further information and pictures of the stamps – just to whet your appetite one is below! YUM!!

Design Team Layouts

This months featured Design Team Member is Marja and these two LO’s are the ones created using last months “SAM kit.  As usual they are stunning!! Thanks Marja.

“For the title I used plain red card and traced the lettering on the reverse side using a template I have. I then stamped and embossed the front with a rubber stamp and then cut the letters out. Loads of stitching. Lollipop stick is BG. Ribbons are misc from my stash.

Journaling reads: "Dad said "Smile, Marja" but what I heard was "wink, Marja". I guess I was never that good at doing what I was told to do!”

Subscription Details

Now that I am trying to get a firm footing with the kits and get them full of lots of new bits and bobs I am trying to get some subscription discounts set up for you ladies.

What I propose is 2 month and 4 month subscriptions to begin with:

2 Months - £25.00 for the normal kit which is released 1 time every 2 months and £15.00 for the Page Kit which is release every other month – so the 2 month sub will entitle you to 1 of each kit over the two months.  The combined price would be £40.00 but if you subscribe in advance then the kits will be only £36.00 – so you will be getting a 10% discount off the combined price.

A 4 month subscription will get you 2 main kits and 2 page kits – totalling £80 over 4 months – if you pay in advance you will get a discount of £10 so will be £70 in advance.

I will still be doing the one off kits from time to time too but they are obviously outside of any subscription deals.

I will work out a sub for 6 months and a year as time goes on – I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself.

Right and finally,

Competition Time!!!

Whilst placing orders for my Blitzen I noticed the new Gadget from Basic Grey – the Notch Tool – you can cut out die cut shapes which you can then use to make envelope flaps or to tie ribbon or fibres through – looks like fun and I decided to get an extra item in to put up in as the prize for the competition.

The competition this month is to submit a Layout to me entitled – “what christmas means to me” – it can be using any paper, with pictures or without anything you want really.  I will be judging the Layouts with the help of my Design Team ladies and between us we will pick a winner from all those submitted.

I will be announcing this on UKS also so you ladies will have ahead start!

The competition will close on the 25th of November so that I can get your prize sent to you before Christmas.

I will put the info on my website with more details plus a piccy of the tool itself and if you want to submit your layouts to me in any format, scan or photo to me at Scrapkits I will be putting the finalists into a gallery on the site so everyone can see just how talented you all are.

Thanks for Reading Ladies and GOOD LUCK
